Film has infatuated me. I shot on some cheap point and shoot 35mm cameras for a few years, but after developing my own black and white film in my high school’s darkroom, I fell in love. I began to process and scan my own C-41 color film at my house. Sure, I don’t get perfect results this way, but it’s cheaper and honestly, I love the imperfections. I love the anxious thrill of not knowing if my shots came out the way I wanted, or what I even took photos of, until I scan them. The hands-on process makes the photos more personal. I spend hours processing roll after roll and, yes, the chemicals have gone to my head.
